Airboater's First Aid Kit

Have you checked your boat’s First Aid Kit lately?

Almost all of us made a point of putting a good First Aid Kit somewhere in our airboat when we first got it. But if that was more than 6 months ago, some of the items in the kit may need to be replaced.

A good Airboater’s First Aid Kit will be waterproof, and will generally contain the following:

  • An illustrated first aid guide
  • Flashlight and batteries
  • Scissors and tweezers
  • Emergency reflective blanket
  • Triangular bandages, butterfly bandages
  • Ace bandage
  • Antiseptic towelettes, disinfectant wipes
  • Adhesive bandage strips in assorted sizes
  • Gauze pads and roller gauze
  • Adhesive tape and safety pins
  • Antiseptic ointment
  • Benadryl tablets, Calamine lotion
  • Hydrocortisone cream, burn relief packs
  • Aspirin, ibuprofen
  • Disposable gloves
  • Plastic ziplock-type bags
  • Cold pack, chemical heat pack

This doesn't cover survival gear. Also consider packing extra food and fresh water, waterproof matches, fire starter, bug spray and sunscreen.
