Airboater's First Aid Kit
Have you checked your boat’s First Aid Kit lately?
Almost all of us made a point of putting a good First Aid Kit somewhere in our airboat when we first got it. But if that
was more than 6 months ago, some of the items in the kit may need to be replaced.
A good Airboater’s First Aid Kit will be waterproof, and will generally contain the following:
- An illustrated first aid guide
- Flashlight and batteries
- Scissors and tweezers
- Emergency reflective blanket
- Triangular bandages, butterfly bandages
- Ace bandage
- Antiseptic towelettes, disinfectant wipes
- Adhesive bandage strips in assorted sizes
- Gauze pads and roller gauze
- Adhesive tape and safety pins
- Antiseptic ointment
- Benadryl tablets, Calamine lotion
- Hydrocortisone cream, burn relief packs
- Aspirin, ibuprofen
- Disposable gloves
- Plastic ziplock-type bags
- Cold pack, chemical heat pack
This doesn't cover survival gear. Also consider packing extra food and fresh water, waterproof matches, fire starter, bug
spray and sunscreen.
